Lenoir
– Asheville native Maureen MacDonald captured the title
of Mrs. North Carolina America 2008 at a recent pageant
in Lenoir.
An
estimated 500 people attended the show to watch
interview, swimsuit and evening gown competitions.
MacDonald, 27, is a former Radio City Music Hall
Rockette, full-time wife and mother and part-time dance
instructor and model. She was born in Asheville and
graduated early from Florida State University, where she
majored in dance.
Her
platform is "Prevent Child Abuse NC" and she has
appeared with the Rockettes on the Oprah Winfrey Show.
She
lives in Raleigh, is married to Mark MacDonald and has
two daughters: Vanessa, 2, and Valerie, 7 months.
Her
first public appearance in her new role will be Saturday
at the 50th Anniversary Carolina Dogwood Pageant in
Statesville.
The new
Mrs. North Carolina America 2008 winner will next
compete in the Mrs. America Pageant , Aug. 14-30.
The
winner of Mrs. America then goes on to represent the
United States of America at the Mrs. World pageant. Mrs.
World 2008 is being held in Russia on June 26.

Kathryn Stuart
wins Mrs. North Carolina America 2007 pageant
Lenoir, NC
Kathryn Stuart survived a record field of seventeen
contestants to become the 31st Mrs. North Carolina
America. In front of an estimated crowd of 600 people Mrs.
Stuart was able to top the field in while competing in
interview, swimsuit, evening gown and top five final questions.
Contestants from across the entire state competed for the title
of Mrs. North Carolina America 2007 over a two day
stay in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Kathryn
Stuart is an international model, actress and singer and has
been on the television soap opera “Passions” filmed in Hollywood
California. She was born in Greenwood SC and lives with her
husband Dustin and son Kaden in Matthews NC.
According
to Frederick Galle, Co-Executive Director of Mrs. North Carolina
America, “Kathryn has appeared in print and on television
internationally as an actress and model for products such as
Volkswagen, Paramount, Rack Room Shoes, Ikea, Sonic, and
Bassett. Kathryn is a stunning 5’8” blonde with Navy blue eyes
and of Cherokee Indian heritage. Kathryn who is 36 years old was
Miss South Carolina Teen USA in 1990 then graduated from
Winthrop University with a theater major.”
“Kathryn
will be making her first official appearance at the Charlotte
Bobcats game this Wednesday to appear center court and be
introduced to the public” according to Wendy Galle Co-Executive
Director and former Mrs. North Carolina America 2002.

search for the most beautiful contemporary married women
in the state to compete in the thirty-third season of
MRS. AMERICA, WE-TV’s* #1 married women’s pageant

A beautiful married woman from Wyoming, Kelly McBee’s
life changed forever last September when she was crowned
MRS. AMERICA 2008 in Tucson AZ. Not only did she
win the grand prize package valued at over $100,000
including a car, but her dream continues as she travels
to an exotic location to compete for the title of
MRS. WORLD. Kelly McBee also will be on the red
carpet along side movie stars and sports stars as a
presenter at the 41st annual VICTOR AWARDS.
