Maureen MacDonald from
Raleigh NC wins Mrs. North Carolina America 2008
pageant.

Maureen MacDonald from Raleigh NC captured the title
of Mrs. North Carolina America 2008 to become the 32nd
Mrs. North Carolina America. In front of an estimated
crowd of 500 people Maureen MacDonald was able to top
the field while competing in interview, swimsuit,
evening gown and top six final questioning. Contestants
from across the entire state competed for the title of
Mrs. North Carolina America 2008 over a
three day stay in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Maureen MacDonald,
age 27, is 5’ 9” tall, with blonde hair and beautiful
blue eyes. She is a former Radio City Music Hall Rockette who showed great stage presence while capturing
the crown. Maureen currently is a full time wife, part
time dance instructor and model. She was born in
Asheville NC and graduated early from Florida State
University where she majored in Dance. She has appeared with the
Radio City Rockettes, and was on the Oprah Winfrey Show in Chicago IL.
Her platform is “Prevent Child Abuse NC.” She
is married to Mark and has two daughters, Vanessa age 2
and Valerie age 7 months, and currently resides in
Raleigh NC.
According to
Frederick Galle, Co-Executive Director of Mrs. North
Carolina America, “Maureen MacDonald is an outstanding
role model for women in North Carolina and possesses the
charm, charisma and character to make an incredible
impact as a contemporary leader."
“Maureen will be
making her first official appearance at the 50th
Anniversary Carolina Dogwood Pageant in Statesville this
Saturday and be introduced to the public,” according to
Wendy Galle, Co-Executive Director and a former Mrs.
North Carolina America 2002.

BACKGROUND:
The new Mrs. North
Carolina America 2008 winner will jet to the
nationally-televised Mrs. America Pageant on August 14th
to August 30th 2008. The Mrs. America Pageant
is the only nationally-televised and recognized pageant
for married women. Delegates from all 50 states and the
District of Columbia will vie for the title of Mrs.
America 2009 over a two week vacation. The pageant will
be broadcast on (Women’s Entertainment television) WE
TV.
The Mrs. North
Carolina America Pageant emphasizes the extraordinary
and accomplished work of North Carolina’s married women.
Contestant ages range in age from eighteen to fifty.
Contestants compete in evening gown, swimsuit,
interview, and onstage top six questions. Contestants
also compete in most beautiful, pageantry spirit,
photogenic, and congeniality.
The winner of Mrs.
America then goes on to represent the United States of
America at the Mrs. World pageant. Mrs. World 2008 is
being held in Russia and will also be televised on
WE TV this June26th, 2008.
Executive Directors
Wendy and Frederick Galle III are scouting for delegates
from each of the counties in North Carolina for their
2008 pageant. Delegates must be at least 18 years old
and married with the ability to travel both nationally
and statewide. Mr. Galle states, “We have grown the
pageant every year, yet we know there are amazing women
in this state that could compete and bring home the Mrs.
America and Mrs. World titles. We are searching for that
special married woman to represent North Carolina and
make the state proud. If you are interested or know

Previous state
prize packages have been valued at over $10,000.00;
previous Mrs. Americas have received over $100,000.00 in
prizes and a new car.
